THE YING AND YANG OF LIFE

Angie knows how to take advantage of a quilt on a clothes line!!

Grand kids enjoyed a walk on the country road to grandma's house. That is a world away from the people trying to rebuild after the devastation in the south and the weddding of a prince and princess.

Sometimes its hard to wrap your head around it all.

Today we finally got sunny and sort of warm.. Spent time taking mum to grocery shop and a few minutes in the garden. Tomorrow if the land is dry enough will attempt to help son in law plant 500 chestnut trees. Sooner or later they gotta get in the ground! If nothing else I will be bringing food to the workers, goodnite all

My Thoughts on our Love of Animals.

My heart goes out to the Bayfield Bunch and their loss of Checkers. All of the animals that Mike and I have living with us came from different paths. CD ( Cemetary Dog) Black gal on Mike's lap was abandoned at the cemetary down the lane from our house. She had been living there for appoximately a month when we spied her, pretty emaciated and not approachable ( that is an understatement). It took us many weeks of going down to the cemetary and enticing her with leftovers to get her to follow us home. She had huge trust issues and would only stay in the garage if we left the door up. It was winter in Michigan and bitterly cold. Obviously from the pic she has been won over YEA, that was several years ago and she is our sweetheart. Donna aka Madonna is a Boxer owned by a nurse I worked with. Her life was living in a cage while her owner was working. If left in the fenced back yard she would dig under to freedom. Now she has the freedom to roam on our acreage and some one to play with. Cats have always come to our house, usually univited but they tend to stay. Angie and Bennie loved to sleep together. They were Brother and Sister . Unfortunately Bennie liked to travel the roadways and was run over. We have a cemetary of sorts for our beloved pets here on our property from dogs, to cats and horses. Each one was and is unique and gave us much more than we gave them. I was raised in a family that never had pets and I guess I have been making up for lost time ever since. Checkers RIP you have beautiful eyes. Namaste

WILD AND WINDY IN MICHIGAN

WHEW, Hope to see the end to this weather but doubtful. Had gale force winds ALL day and @10pm it has not let up. I'm ready to! Big day tomorrow as orientation awaits. I am looking forward to being back to work, its a different kind of constructive from my daily.

Mike and I conquered the trimming of the burning bushes (in gale force winds). That was our replacement for not walking today and it was enough!! I am waiting for THIS day when grankids take to the water!!!

Monday Monday

Well we survived thunder, lightening and sleet yesterday. Today started out promising but quickly deteriorated into grey, windy and damp. NOT my idea of spring( nor probably anyone elses.) I'm a nubie at this blog business. I usually keep a diary going but this seems like more fun and I get to add pictures if I want. Well yes I could add pictures to my diary but .... I dont. Obviously I need more practice with the picture thingy!! This is my Gabbygale, light of my life. She is in the fourth grade and wise beyond her years. I think the picture at the top is of her attempting to retreive her soccer ball, Gramps is not too sure WHAT she is doing. I see that I currently have one follower and thank you. You give me inspiration to continue on this path. Tomorrow I prepare for returning to work after a year and a half attemp at "RETIREMENT".

this is NOT my idea of spring
THIS IS MORE LIKE IT!!!!
Hopefully ice will be gone by tomorrow. Lost internet service for two days do to antenna being iced up. Good neighbors shared their ideas of how to de-ice, unfortunately my antenna is mounted on the second story chimney, not on the garage like theirs and so patience was its own reward. My son, Matt was sure I would have withdrawls but I prevailed. Mike, Hubby of 40 years (as of yesterday)and I have the greatest urge to be off on the backroads( again yesterday) but I fear new ISSUES with the beloved MH are transpiring. My guys changed the starter, solenoid and alternator and now it doesnt idle properly(to quote the guys) so more research is needed... sigh... remember those who need remembering ....namaste
